Supporting Philanthropic Endeavors
Operating as an official 501(c)(3) auxiliary organization of SDSU, the Campanile Foundation
accepts and administers all gifts to the university. Such gifts provide support for
scholarships, program needs, academic departments, colleges and much more. Foundation
team members collaborate with the university’s development staff and provide vital
support to ensure philanthropic goals can be reached.
How to Give
Fiduciary Responsibilities of The Campanile Foundation
While The Campanile Foundation is a California non-profit corporation created to administer private gifts, responsibility for the governance of the Foundation, including investments, is vested in its Board of Directors. The board seeks investment returns through a professionally managed portfolio, and to achieve its investment objective, the Foundation retains an independent investment consultant to provide ongoing evaluation and performance review.
Honoring Donor Intent
In order to meet the responsibilities the Foundation has to its donors, it's essential to understand donor intent. Foundation staff, along with university fundraisers, work closely under the guidance of gift policies and procedures, and gift agreements to understand and honor donors’ intent in their gifts to philanthropy.
